About Me

Ah, yes. The About Me page. It’s actually my bane of existence, if you must have me admit. I never knew how to introduce myself, so bear with me this little while.

Hello, curious readers.

My name’s Joelle.

My affinity with the arts started when I was 4 years of age. I completed the children’s ballet and was awarded a Grade 8 Commended certificate. I play the classical and pop piano and am currently doing classical guitar.

I write lyrics in Chinese every now and then. However, the furthest I ever went was becoming a finalist on Music Express 13, a competition hosted by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

The kind of music I listen ranges across languages and genres. Some of my favourite musicians include Jay Chou, JJ Lin, Jesse McCartney, TVXQ and Big Bang. I’m a big fan of 2NE1 and I identify myself as a Blackjack.

I did two years of journalism coursework at the Chinese Culture University, Taiwan between September 2007 and June 2009. During the time, I interviewed Derrick Hoh (from Singapore) and received an A for the work. My overall GPA before my transfer to Australia was 3.49 out of 4.

Last October, I graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland with a GPA of 6.38 out of 7. I majored in Communications, with a minor in Public Relations.

I will try to update this review site, despite all that is happening in my life. I really want to thank everyone who had been reading since September 2009. If I had to choose my favourite article from the blog, I think it would be G-Dragon’s Heartbreaker review.
